"In the world of extreme long-distance running, where every step counts and each mile feels like an eternity, your choice of gear can make or break your race. The Woodstock Ultramarathon, a tough 100-mile race, was a massive challenge. When I decided to take it on, I knew I needed all the help I could get. So, I put on the CEP Compression Shorts 4.0. As I covered those miles, these shorts became my reliable companions, transforming the way I thought about comfort, support, and endurance. ... To reach the finish line, I had to endure not just physical exhaustion but also stay mentally strong. It was a 27-hour and 27-minute battle, and my secret weapon? The CEP Compression Shorts 4.0." - NAZAR KLUCHKOVSKIY, ACTIVEGEARREVIEW.COM

    Comfortable

"Good support and comfort I have run many miles and raced a marathon in these and they have helped my recovery beautifully. The fit is tight but not uncomfortable. No chafing or hotspots."

    Excellent

"This is the 2nd pair I’ve bought. I use them for running (speed work & distance). Very comfortable, strong compression which gives good support. Recommend."

    These are my favorite compression

"These are my favorite compression shorts. If you choose the correct size ( I found the fit guide spot on), you will be very happy. Comfortable compression for your sport or activity. I use mine for running and wouldn’t think of running a 10k or more without these. Well made and I expect them lo to last a long time. No reservations in buying these."

    I use them for running

"I use these for longer runs, anything from 2 - 5 hours so far. Features I like: compression is real and has stayed that way through heavy use. Waist is high so I can wear a running belt without it touching skin. There has been zero chaffing. Features I don't like: I don't need the pockets at the back that has a zipper. The zipper is just kind annoying and doesn't add any functionality over a flap. I've worn a small hole in the front of the quad in both pairs. Not sure how that happened."

    great

"Not only the material but also the degree of compression is appropriate, reducing leg fatigue"

    Great Shorts

"I feel very supported in these shorts and they're comfortable too. Like the new 4.0 design."

    Overall these are useful for

"Overall these are useful for use while active and for recovery. I would like them more if the area of higher compression were longer up the leg and they were a couple of inches longer to better cover the entire length of the hamstring."

    I have had all the

"I have had all the previous generations or versions of this run shorts...my favorite part of this latest version is about the drawstring which is finally outside like yoga pants rather than rubbing my skin on the inside. I wish it had pockets on the sides still AND with a zipper pouch in the back. Otherwise, the material feels smoother on the skin BUT felt it had less compression. The seams in the groin area is better constructed now as well...previous versions were the weaknesses which it would eventually rip/tear."

Not What They Used To Be

"I hate to write a negative review about these shorts as it is probably at least my 12th pair I have purchased. Every year I buy a pair for the running season since when you use them as much as I do the elasticity wears out as expected. I could not get them during the pandemic but a month ago I saw them back online. I bought a pair, tried them on and it looked like there was a run in the compression area. I called customer support and, no problem, returned that pair and immediately received a replacement. Unfortunately, the new pair had the same problem (although in a different leg). So disappointing as I have always loved my CEP compression shorts and was disappointed when I could not get them for a couple years. I suspect, and this is only my suspicion, that whoever used to make them for CEP went out of business during COVID and the new supplier is not up to par.:("
