"In the world of extreme long-distance running, where every step counts and each mile feels like an eternity, your choice of gear can make or break your race. The Woodstock Ultramarathon, a tough 100-mile race, was a massive challenge. When I decided to take it on, I knew I needed all the help I could get. So, I put on the CEP Compression Shorts 4.0. As I covered those miles, these shorts became my reliable companions, transforming the way I thought about comfort, support, and endurance. ... To reach the finish line, I had to endure not just physical exhaustion but also stay mentally strong. It was a 27-hour and 27-minute battle, and my secret weapon? The CEP Compression Shorts 4.0." - NAZAR KLUCHKOVSKIY, ACTIVEGEARREVIEW.COM

"Not only the material but also the degree of compression is appropriate, reducing leg fatigue"

    Overall these are useful for

"Overall these are useful for use while active and for recovery. I would like them more if the area of higher compression were longer up the leg and they were a couple of inches longer to better cover the entire length of the hamstring."

    I have had all the

"I have had all the previous generations or versions of this run shorts...my favorite part of this latest version is about the drawstring which is finally outside like yoga pants rather than rubbing my skin on the inside. I wish it had pockets on the sides still AND with a zipper pouch in the back. Otherwise, the material feels smoother on the skin BUT felt it had less compression. The seams in the groin area is better constructed now as well...previous versions were the weaknesses which it would eventually rip/tear."

Not What They Used To Be

"I hate to write a negative review about these shorts as it is probably at least my 12th pair I have purchased. Every year I buy a pair for the running season since when you use them as much as I do the elasticity wears out as expected. I could not get them during the pandemic but a month ago I saw them back online. I bought a pair, tried them on and it looked like there was a run in the compression area. I called customer support and, no problem, returned that pair and immediately received a replacement. Unfortunately, the new pair had the same problem (although in a different leg). So disappointing as I have always loved my CEP compression shorts and was disappointed when I could not get them for a couple years. I suspect, and this is only my suspicion, that whoever used to make them for CEP went out of business during COVID and the new supplier is not up to par.:("

Disappointing. After 12 Years I have to go find another brand.

"I have used run tights for years and this redesign is just garbage. I saw a few bad reviews about the tights falling off during use and thought it was improbable but now I understand. They do not fit as pictured or as expected. The legs are about 3 inches too short so to get compression on the entire quad you have to pull them down and then the crutch is pulled too low impeding leg motion and pulling the tights down. Then if you pull them up so the crutch fits where it should be the tights are too short and do not cover your entire quad sitting about 3-4 inches higher then they should. This is very disappointing. I have been using this brand compression tights since 2012 or so and now have to go find another brand because I cannot find the older versions and this one just does not cut it."

    Would Highly Recommend

"My first and only pair of compression shorts. Being a first time user I did a lot of research before purchasing - I liked the medical grade material. During a recent run I injured/pulled hamstring in right leg. Never had an injury like this before (sucks getting old). I let it heal for couple weeks (using stretches and roller). Once leg felt healthy I put on the CEP Compression shorts and took an easy 3 mile jog - no pain!. I will continue to take it slow and increase mileage gradually and am adding these shorts to my runs from now on - don't want this injury to flare up again. So far I have only used shorts about a dozen+ times and have been very comfortable. The quality seems excellent but only time will tell to see how durable they are."
